Ministries at MCC of Our Redeemer

Worship, care, fellowship, learning, and service in action

Ministries at MCC of Our Redeemer help people grow as disciples of Jesus, care for one another, and serve the wider community with compassion, welcome, and purpose.

How ministry works here

The life of the church is shaped by worship, discipleship, outreach, fellowship, and practical care. Some ministries happen publicly every week. Others work behind the scenes to make worship, hospitality, and support possible.

Whether you want to learn, serve, sing, welcome guests, help with outreach, or care for others in times of need, there is a place to begin.

Core ministry areas

These are some of the main ways the congregation lives out its mission.

Discipleship and Christian Education

This ministry supports spiritual growth through adult study, children’s ministry, Sunday school, new member formation, and other opportunities to deepen discipleship.

Outreach

Outreach reaches beyond the church into the community through food support, financial help, volunteers, seasonal drives, Augusta Pride, and other practical responses to need.

Fellowship

Fellowship ministries create connection through shared meals, covered dish suppers, holiday gatherings, Easter breakfast, and other events that strengthen community life.

Worship and Music

Worship ministry supports the Sunday service through greeters, readers, ushers, communion servers, choir, music, sanctuary preparation, and service coordination.

Congregational Care

Congregational care reminds people they are not alone through cards, phone calls, transportation support, bereavement meals, and other acts of compassionate presence.

Building and Grounds

This team cares for the church property through maintenance, upkeep, and work days that help keep the church home clean, safe, and ready for ministry.

Worship ministry

Serving in Sunday worship

The Worship Team helps with readers, ushers, greeters, communion assistants, sound and presentation support, sanctuary preparation, and service planning.

Choir and music ministry are also part of worship life, offering special music through the year, including seasonal cantatas. Choir practice meets every Wednesday at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary, except during occasional breaks.

Care and community

Ministry beyond Sunday morning

Not every ministry happens from the pulpit. Some happen through meals, rides, calls, prayer, setup, cleanup, hospitality, and showing up for people when they need the church most.

That quieter work matters just as much. It is part of how MCC of Our Redeemer lives out hope, healing, and spiritual growth in everyday ways.
