About MCC of Our Redeemer
A welcoming and affirming Christian community in Augusta, Georgia
Metropolitan Community Church of Our Redeemer is a Christian congregation extending God’s inclusive love through worship, discipleship, outreach, and fellowship. We are rooted in Jesus Christ, grounded in Scripture, and committed to being a place of hope, healing, and spiritual growth.
Who we are
MCC of Our Redeemer is part of Metropolitan Community Churches, a global Christian movement with a special ministry of inclusion for people who have often been excluded from the life and ministry of the church.
Our congregation is intentionally open to all. We seek to be a safe and faithful community where people can worship, learn, grow, heal, and serve together.
Our mission
“The Metropolitan Community Church of Our Redeemer is a Christian Community extending God’s inclusive love by affirming hope, healing, and spiritual growth through worship, discipleship, outreach, and fellowship.”
Our values in practice
These values shape how we worship, serve, and welcome others.
Inclusion
Love is our greatest moral value, and we work to be a church where everyone is welcomed at God’s table.
Community
We are committed to building a safe and open community where people can worship, learn, and grow in faith together.
Spiritual Transformation
We believe lives are changed when people encounter God through the life and ministry of Christ.
Social Action
We are called not only to speak about justice, but to stand with those who suffer and resist oppression in practical ways.
Our story
We have been serving Augusta for decades with a ministry centered on Christ, welcome, and community.
The beginning in Augusta
The first worship service was held on November 28, when the congregation was known as MCC Augusta.
A new name
The congregation officially became Metropolitan Community Church of Our Redeemer.
A permanent church home
The church purchased its home at 557 Greene Street in Augusta.
Continuing the ministry
MCC of Our Redeemer continues to serve Augusta and the wider region as a welcoming, affirming Christian congregation.
What worship is like
Our Sunday worship service draws from many Christian traditions. You may hear hymns and praise music, experience both liturgical and less formal elements, and find a congregation that values reverence, joy, and welcome.
We believe worship should unite Christians from different backgrounds rather than divide them over style. Whether you come dressed casually or formally, you are welcome here.
Leadership snapshot
Rev. Dr. Marc Trimm serves as Senior Pastor. The church is also served by staff leadership including David Barker, Administrative Assistant, and Scott Jones, Treasurer, alongside lay leadership through the Board of Directors.
Together they support the congregation’s worship, care, service, and long-term ministry.
